When you see a bride & groom, which words come to mind?

  • celebration
  • responsibility
  • commitment

Maybe your thoughts are colored by less than positive emotions because of your own marriage experiences.  Perhaps you’re slightly jaded, or cynical, or even bitter.

When I see a man and woman choosing to be married, I see…

Weddings are about Hope

It’s not just the bride and groom hoping for a good future together –  the parents, siblings, family & guests are also wishing and hoping for the couple’s happiness in life.

Today I’m thinking of 3 couples – they’re young & in love – they’re filled with hope for their future.

  • J & N were married last weekend
  • R & C are being married today
  • J & G will be married next Saturday

I’m praying they find joy together, that they continue to grow as couples, that they experience life’s ripples as a team – working together, playing together, building together.

Will you join me in praying for these 3 couples?

Yes – you don’t know them personally – but you can understand their hopes.  You know the difficulties they’ll face, you know the lengths to which they’ll be required to grow.

Perhaps I’m naive.  Or idealistic.  But could it be, that we – as couples married for a while – have a responsibility?

I think if we pray more for our newly married couples, and even reach out a hand to mentor them (when prompted by the Lord), then we’ll see married couples become a force of positive change in this world.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to see more husbands and wives leading meaningful lives – together?
