… be encouraged in heart and united in love…
1. A Special Breakfast to Look Forward
Plan a special breakfast with your spouse.
In the next week – just the two of you – take a leisurely walk through the holidays.
Decide how you’d like to celebrate. When, where, how and who.
Add some new traditions – consider inviting others into your family circle to give thanks and rejoice…
Hope comes from looking forward and seeking God’s will for your future.
2. Worship with your Spouse.
Where will you be this Sunday?
Are you a part of a church family?
Deepen – or renew – the connection, and worship together as husband and wife.
Fortify your faith – it’s a great encouragement for you and your spouse.
3. Reach out in Love.
A loving touch – without expectation – can melt the heart.
When was the last time you touched your spouse in love?
Think of all the ways…
- hold his hand
- brush her hair back
- rub his shoulders
- kiss the back of her neck
- pat him on the tush
- invite her to walk arm in arm
- scratch his scalp
- massage her feet
- lay a soft hand on the small of her back
- enjoy a lovely, long cuddle
Love without condition – it’s a gift – the encouragement it provides is unending.
4. Pray for your spouse’s health.
Invest your time.
Concentrated, in depth, dedicated time –
in the next 24 hours to pray for your spouse’s health.
- physical health – a strong body.
- mental health – confidence, optimism and a sound mind.
- spiritual health – a deep and abiding trust in God.
Prayer lifts your spouse up – whether they know you’re doing it or not…
5. Do Something Tangible.
You know what will make a difference in your spouse’s life.
You know what is looming over your spouse – the stuff that never gets done.
Be proactive – today or tomorrow – and finish a task that will bless your spouse.
Support your spouse – take action!
Have courage.
Encourage!
Your encouragements here, Lori, are so wise and convicting! I need to be more focused on what would bless my hubby. I am getting to go on a short trip with him this weekend and will focus on doing all the above! 🙂 I’d love for you to come on over to Messy Marriage and link this up for Wedded Wed, my friend!
Thanks for stopping in – and for your words of affirmation, Beth. Always an honor or linkup!
Have a great weekend away with your hubby. 🙂
(continuing in prayer for you)
