Down-in-the-dumps.

Down-trodden.

Down-in-the-mouth.

Down-cycled.

Downward.

Down-graded.

Down-and-out.

Down-cast.

There are times when you’ve done all you physically can.  There are days where there are no more options.  Sometimes there is no solution.  None.

Where do you turn when you’re done-for? From whom do you seek help?

I will lift up my eyes to the hills

From whence comes my help?

My help comes from the Lord!

Help.  Assistance.  Answers.  Repair.  Renewal.  Deliverance.  Peace.  Joy.

Prayer will lift up.

I pray because I can’t help myself. I pray because I’m helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time – waking and sleeping. It doesn’t change God- it changes me.

~ C.S. Lewis

When you want circumstances to change,

even if it’s only your outlook – or your spouse’s – take time to pray.

Prayer is an action.  Prayer changes things.  Prayer uplifts.

Uplifted = raised & elevated

When you’re raised up and elevated, what happens?  All of a sudden, you can see!

You can see clearly.  You can see over.  You can see around. You can see past.

Encouraging your spouse with prayer is like taking her or him up in an air-balloon.   Prayer cannot remain on the ground.  Prayer is directed upwards to the One who can make a difference – the One who can change circumstances.

Drop to your knees and ask for help.  Intercede on behalf of your spouse.  Hold to the words of Jesus:

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.  Matthew 7:7-8
